{"id":230,"date":"2017-08-27T22:27:16","date_gmt":"2017-08-27T22:27:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/?page_id=230"},"modified":"2023-05-08T05:20:12","modified_gmt":"2023-05-08T05:20:12","slug":"about-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/?page_id=230","title":{"rendered":"The Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MISSION STATEMENT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Sadhu Vaswani Center &#8211; Atlanta (SVC Atlanta) seeks to bear witness to the truth that there is but One Life flowing in all \u2013 men, birds, animals, things, animate and inanimate.<\/p>\n<p>The SVC Atlanta believes that life must have a spiritual orientation and promotes activities for the cultural, educational, intellectual, and spiritual advancement of all. We endeavor to serve all communities in need, irrespective of caste, color, or creed.<\/p>\n<p>The Sadhu Vaswani Center \u2013 Atlanta, Inc., is organized as a non-profit institution within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dada J. P. Vaswani is the spiritual head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, which is located in Pune, India. We have been fortunate and blessed to host his visits 9 times here in Atlanta (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2008) and we are looking forward to having His darshan here again.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The activities of the Center are as follows:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>SATSANG\/Fellowship:<\/strong> Held every Sunday from 4 to 5:15 p.m.<br \/>\n<strong>Senior Citizen Satsang:<\/strong> Held every Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.<br \/>\n<strong>GURKUL\/Children\u2019s Classes:<\/strong> Held twice\/month and include Seva at Homeless Shelters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong> Families are encouraged to bring their children &amp; friends to the weekly Satsang, Seva &amp; Children\u2019s classes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7593 \" src=\"http:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/activities122.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"427\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/activities122.png 1024w, https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/activities122-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/activities122-768x513.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition to the above monthly sevas, the following service projects\/programs are organized:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>January<\/strong>: In observance of Sadhu T. L. Vaswani\u2019s Death Anniversary (Jan. 16th is the Anniversary day), a Food Drive is conducted along with a &#8220;Gift for Sight&#8221; drive whereby a donation of $50 covers one eye operation; This money is sent to The Sadhu Vaswani Mission in Pune, India to be utilized at the K. K. Eye Institute for cataract surgeries.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7575\" src=\"http:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/eyeinstitute-300x229.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/eyeinstitute-300x229.png 300w, https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/eyeinstitute.png 539w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 222px) 100vw, 222px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>February<\/strong>: We celebrate our Mission\u2019s Thanksgiving Week: Socks are collected and distributed to the elderly residents at local Nursing Homes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7579\" src=\"http:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/warmtheirsoleslogo-300x174.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/warmtheirsoleslogo-300x174.webp 300w, https:\/\/svcatlanta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/warmtheirsoleslogo.webp 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>August<\/strong>: To celebrate Dadaji J. P. Vaswani\u2019s birthday, a Children&#8217;s Education Fund is collected whereby a donation of $50 covers one needy child\u2019s education for one academic year at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission\u2019s schools in India. L. Vaswani&#8217;s Birthday we conduct a Blanket Drive, taking up new blankets OR donations to purchase them. Dada J.P.
